Gustav Klimt: The Master of the Golden Age
Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) was a prominent Austrian Symbolist painter, known for his lavish and often gilded works that were among the most recognizable works of art from the modern era. Klimt was one of the founders of the Vienna Secession, a movement that opposed the conservative artistic conventions of the time. His work is characterized by rich symbolism, sensual subjects and an abundance of decorative elements. Klimt's famous "Golden Period," during which he incorporated gold leaf into his paintings, produced iconic works such as "The Kiss" and "Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I." His unique style, which combines elements of Art Nouveau and Byzantine art, has had a lasting influence on the art world and continues to be admired and studied to this day.

We are told every week that the painting looks smaller than expected. Therefore a free tip: Choose a size larger than you initially think.
Below you will find some of our tips to choose the perfect size:
- Art above the bank? Go for a width of at least 100 cm. This can be one big work, or one Combination of two or three smaller works side by side.
- This rule also applies to art above the dining table: the starting point is at least 100 cm wide.
- For the hall we recommend several works in a long line - that gives a beautiful, spatial effect.
- A piece of at least 120 cm wide often works best in the bedroom. Or play with a creative Composition of several works.
- Do you have an empty wall without furniture or other anchor points? Then choose a work of at least 90 cm High to make sufficient impact.
